Rooted! Privacy Policy

Effective date: 10 October 2026
Last updated: 13 October 2026

Zeyad Abdelwahab("we", "us") publishes the mobile application Rooted!(the "App"). This policy explains what the App does with information when you install and use it.

1. Summary

2. Information stored on your device

The App saves your game state locally on your device (lesson progress, game scores, achievements, settings such as text size and audio preferences). This information:

Resetting progress clears Rooted!'s own local progress stores. Deleting the app removes its local data subject to the operating system's behaviour, including any device backups. We have no server copy of your progress. Resetting or deleting Rooted! does not delete information separately held by advertising providers; their policies explain retention and available privacy rights.

3. Information we do not collect

We do not collect or receive:

Rooted! requests Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission before initializing advertising. You may allow tracking or ask the app not to track. Your choice does not prevent you from using the app. Rooted!'s own code does not request access to your location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, or files.

4. Children

The App is intended for users aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has used the App, contact us at the address above and we will help you remove the locally stored data (deleting the App does this).

5. Advertising (Appodeal)

The App displays interstitial advertisements supplied through Appodeal'siOS SDK (Appodeal 4.4.0, integrated in this build under the owner's Appodeal App Key). Appodeal mediates advertising demand: the ads you see may come from Appodeal itself or from third-party ad networks it mediates, including AdMob (configured by the owner inside their Appodeal dashboard) and Start.io(served through Appodeal's mediation adapter). Each of those networks may collect information directly from your device for advertising purposes, under its own privacy policy.

Appodeal collects information directly from your device for advertising purposes. We do not receive your personal information from Appodeal; we receive only aggregate ad performance data.

What Appodeal (and the networks it mediates) may collect includes the advertising identifier (IDFA — only if you allow tracking when the App Tracking Transparency prompt asks), IP address, and approximate location and device information. For the exact current list, see Appodeal's published guidance and the policies linked below.

How to opt out of personalised advertising on iOS: go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking to control app tracking, and Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising for Apple's own ad personalisation. You can also opt out of Appodeal interest-based ads via the instructions in Appodeal's policy linked above.

App Tracking Transparency. This build presents Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt once at startup, before the ad SDK initializes, and proceeds whether you allow or deny. If you deny, the app and its ads still work; the ad SDK and its mediated networks may still collect non-tracking data as described above and in their policies.

6. How information is shared

We do not sell, rent or share your personal information, because we do not collect it. Information collected by the Appodeal advertising SDK and the ad networks it mediates is shared according to their own privacy policies (links in section 5).

7. Security and retention

Locally stored game data stays on your device under your device's own protections. We keep no copies, so there is nothing for us to retain or breach. Retention of data collected by the advertising SDK and its mediated networks is governed by their policies.

8. Your rights and choices

Refusing tracking does not mean that no advertising data is collected. Advertising providers may still process permitted non-tracking information, such as IP address, device information, and contextual advertising measurements, as described in their privacy policies. Networks may derive approximate location from IP addresses without GPS permission.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change how the App handles information, we will update this page and change the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be noted in the App Store release notes for the version that introduces them.
